Abstracting in the Italian Landscape In September 2008 join Peter Griffen, known as one of Australia’s leading abstract painters, on an artistic adventure at Villa Madonna, Cottanello, Italy. Peter invites you to join him in the studio at Villa Madonna for ten days of free thinking, experimental, abstract painting and semi-abstract still life and en plein air painting. Many techniques using acrylic paint are demonstrated with a particular emphasis on composition, line and strong colour. |

“I believe that to make discoveries, risks must be taken. The traveller must get lost. A well planned journey can only lead to an already known destination. At some stage the painting must get out of control”.
Peter exhibits and teaches throughout the Eastern States of Australia and New Zealand, and now he has extended his workshops to Italy. He has had over 50 exhibitions in Australia and Europe, and his work has been hung in the Sulman, Dobell and Fleurieu Peninsula Biennale. |
